Toronto Fire Prevention 2013 Hiring

Postby Fenix_77 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:37 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone has gone through the hiring process for Toronto Fire Prevention Inspector. I have completed the Test, Interview and Medical successfully but due to operational requirements I was put on a candidate list. From what I have seen on the news regarding the 2013 budget it seems as though they will be hiring more inspectors. Any info would be helpful and appreciated...
Cheers....

Just a couple of quick questions.

Thanks

Rumour is TFS should be posting for Fire Prevention Inspectors any day now. Does anyone know how long new recruits are in training for? Does TFS hire exclusivly from the fire protection technology programs?

toronto fire prevention hiring

My Uncle is a Capt in Fire Prevention. TFS is apparently hiring a ton of FPOs in the next few years. I don't think they hire Fire Protection Technology grads specifically but it sure seems like it. My brother took the 3yr Seneca Program and got hired. The new thing is NFPA1031 Level 1&2 Certification which is now included in the 3yr program and apparently for alumni grads too.

Hey,

I am a FPET Seneca grad... I finished about 8 years ago, am I entitled to this NFPA 1031 cert? How do I go about applying?

Now that the first class is training, does anyone know when the next class will begin?

NFPA 1031 Cert

To answer your question, yes you get your NFPA 1031 Level 1 & 2 if you took the 3 yr Diploma.

My bro took that course and he went back for 1031 in June. It's gradfathered or you take a one day bridge course and you get a OFM cert.

I'll get my bro to post the info.

Anyone know when NFPA Level II will be offered through Seneca for people you did not attend the 2 or 3 year program?

I took the Fire Inspector NFPA Cert 1031 Level 1 at Seneca this past June. I haven't taken the FPT Program. 8 People from my class got hired by TFS in the past FPO recruitment. They are offering another cert course in Feb of this year.

There's a Recruit Class picture in the hallway at Seneca of the 32 FPO's hired in Sept 2014.
29 of the 32 are from the Seneca Program.....I'm hoping getting NFPA 1031 Level 1 & 2 will get me a FPO job.
