A buddy of mine's daughter has recently graduated from one of the pre-service courses and is looking for a way to be more competitive in the hiring process for a municipal department. I suggested joining the Canadian Forces as a firefighter a...

If the past is any indication the 4 new investigator jobs (if that's true) will be internal hires. As the first four were.

Spent the better part of last week at the Toronto Fire Academy. The word from there is that the positions are on hold for now. Unfortunately they did NOT get the external candidates (ofm) that they were hoping would apply. As well the position for Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention has yet to be filled...

I was talking to a guy yesterday and he believes they cancelled this job call as well. I have no idea if that's true or not but given what I know of the last competition which was cancelled, it wouldn't surprise me.

The job call ended yesterday. So I'm assuming interviews for those that have applied and made the cut will be sometime in the future. I won't hesitate to give you a timeline because last time it was months before they held interviews.

Maybe this time it will be quicker???

It'll be interesting to see how they'll get qualified internal candidates given that they don't do any investigations now.

I heard it was 2 internally from fire prevention plus a Captain to run it. They're hoping to get 2 externals from the OFM which isn't going to happen. So maybe a couple fpo's from another dept who want to just do investigations.
