Re: City of Toronto 2017

I hear a posting is imminent, with a projected start of April/May. Also it sounds like this is the beginning of a large wave of hiring, since there were lots of members waiting to retire until after he last contract settlement. Re: OFAI - Technical Skills update

The new changes make the process a bit more palatable. The only part of the process that was really grey was the skills. With some of the changes I believe it makes it easier to be successful. Re: Information about the Traning Division Academy

Most departments will recognize the training division certification. Because you end up with your IFSAC seals, it doesn’t really matter where you got them.

There are a few that specifically do not recognize them (London, ON for example) however if you have the ticket, you’re good.

Re: Vancouver shift pattern

Vancouver does 2 10hr days 2 14 hour nights and off for 4. I believe everyone in the lower mainland follows the same pattern.
Did I miss 2017 recruitment for Toronto?

Took a hiatus from the Fire Game looking to throw my name in the hat again.

Cheers
Doesn't appear so, the current batch of hopefuls would start end of this month, no new competition thusfar.

Thanks!
Hey westcoast! Love bc I think you are lucky to be out there! But in answer to your question the dates that were listed last year were largely missed due to several reasons within city politics and things within TFS itself (lack of retirements). I think they were extremely hopefu...
