A close one

Postby FLASHOVER05 » Tue Nov 19, 2013 2:55 pm

Time for a post.

Our hall was paged out to assist the first out station to a medical call, entrapment. The details were funny as it came in from dispatch as the victim was struck in the head unconscious and has no feeling in their legs. Update was that the victim had been hit by a felled tree and when crew arrived the person was pinned between the tree and the chipper.

Our crews responded to secure landing zone for air ambulance as victim needed to be airlifted. As crews were leaving scene I find out it's one of our own... a guy I did my recruit program with....

He was in rough shape, hope for the best for him
How the hell did I end up here?????

It is always hard when we know the patient, even harder when it is one of our own.

sending thoughts of a quick recovery.

Prayers For A Speedy Recovery

Postby LTPVFD » Thu Nov 21, 2013 12:05 am

Went to a cardiac arrest call a few years ago. When the call came in the address sounded familiar. Upon arrival it was the wife of a guy I work with. Despite our efforts she did not survive. Definitely difficult when dealing with someone you know.

Prayers for a speedy recovery of your friend and colleague.
