From NFPA 1582

SECTION 6.10 – ABDOMINAL ORGANS AND GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM
􀂙 Presence of uncorrected inguinal / femoral hernia regardless of symptoms.
􀂙 Any gastrointestinal condition that results in the candidate not being able to safely perform one or more of the essential job tasks.

There are 2 parts to the NFPA guidelines. I suggest you read them for clarification. Some things are fails (cat A) and some things are just warnings (cat b) but you can still pass.

If anyone has experience of a medical would you care to enlighten us on how strict it was compared to the actual guidelines?
