the online application is very basic, check the write boxes and you get to write, no screening of applicants to write the test so i take it there will be quite a bit of competition, looking forward to it nonetheless

True, put in the correct info on the Application and you write the test.

However, Do they not double check Issue Dates on your DZ, and CPR/First Aid Certificates when they ask for Resumes?

Best of Luck to everyone, the rumor I heard was they are looking at hiring about 7-8 people. and then if/when their Contract settles for the 42Hr work weeke, they will need to hire more.

The 24 hour schedule equals an average of 42 hours per week over the course of the year or a 28 day month cycle. Windsor currently works an average of 48 hours / week which means they work an extra day per 28 day cycle then most of the other fire departments in the province. So instead of working 8 days a month for the sake of arguement they work 9 or instead of 7 days a month they work 8.
Life without knowledge is death in disguise.

The inside scoop is these are retirement replacements. If they go to a 42hr work week, Eddie Francis is going to tell Montone to take a rig out of service. He is adamant about a 0% tax increase and knows when Windsor settles (if they do) the city and taxpayers are gonna get bent over due to all the retro pay they will be shelling out. What are they...like 5-6 yrs without a contract?
But on the brightside...at least some more hires!
