Requirements

Requirements:
 You must be legally entitled to work in Canada
 Able to understand, and communicate clearly in oral and written English
 Completion of a minimum of Grade 12 (or equivalent as approved by the Board of
Education)
 Be available to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week to fulfill shift requirements
 Valid Ontario driver’s licence (Class G minimum), and the ability to attain a DZ
licence within the first year of employment

The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service is currently developing an applicant pool to service its firefighter hiring needs for approximately the next two years. If you meet the above eligibility requirements, please submit an application in accordance with instructions provided in the Application Package, by Monday, April 20, 2015.

Class G is equivalent to Alberta Class 5 right? And does anyone know what the Aptitude test is like?

I gotta be honest, I did not expect Vaughan to open up already.


Does anyone know how many they want to hire? Also, roughly when do they want to start the recruit class?

Last hire it was a CPS. I imagine they will use the same format as last time.

I think eventually they will go with OFAI but unfortunately they are going with the CPS and they will be hiring 10.

Anyone know who they have typically hired in the past? What I mean by that is NFPA guys, trades guys, volunteer guys etc...?

men and women...generally not younger then 28..... trades, healthcare, teachers, vollies, pre-service and out of province trained people.
