Firefighter Physical Fitness Test or Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) required. Valid results required upon conditional offer of employment

That's from their website. Are we to assume that they would be setting up the CPAT and calling people who progress after the ATS testing/resume checks? Anyone had this experience with St Thomas before?

Has anyone had any experience with ATS writing out of province (Ontario) for recruitments?
I have emailed, however recieved no response.

Thanks

First test day was today. Appears this recruitment is not as popular on here.

There were about 50 in the morning, I think there was a second writing in the afternoon with another 50. The last writing is Wednesday in London so I expect more people will attend that as well.

I'm a lil confused about the physical test. I've seen documentation for St Thomas that says cpat, but I've also seen documentation that says York University or other fire department accredited test. York is not cpat, ofai is cpat, so will they accept pretty much anything?

I am also confused by this? If anyone could shed some light on this question that would be great!

St. Thomas is very kind in allowing candidates to use one of those physical tests rather than selecting one specific test. So if you have a valid test certificate from York, Brock, or OFAI, then you can submit this as proof of meeting a FF physical fitness assessment.

Look at Burlington for instance, they want the Brock done on a specific day even though there are a number of people who probably have valid ones from either Niagara Falls, St Catherine's etc

For people that don't have a valid test, York is probably going to be your cheapest route. OFAI won't do just the CPAT unless you are an out of province applicant. Maybe U of Waterloo will be holding a CPAT date, although the I am very doubtful.

You could also go do the Brock test in its entirety and throw in for Burlington too...

In any event, good luck to those that applied.
