Thank you for always keeping us up to date! Do you know if Toronto has any plans to extend eligibility with ofai certificates for the coming recruitment or is it still being discussed?

Any word on what they will require as far as certs? Mine have all expired during these crazy times, and it sounds like OFAI is still having issues opening back up.

All they can really ask for in my mind is written, hearing, vision and FF skills. Encapsulated treadmill and fpat are suspended as far as I know. I’m hoping they open the recruitment to all applicants with certs up to date pre covid.

No class will be happening in September, possibly one in October at best. The City is getting close to the number of open vacancies requirement in our contact before a class is mandatory.
In terms of budget, there will be no cuts to the Fire Budget for the city of Toronto for 2021, so no cuts to firefighters will be taking place for at least the next year.
The city management seems to be working well with the association on staffing at this time so my guess would be that a class will be started as soon as they can get a minimum of 40 qualified candidates through the entire "process".
Best of luck.

Has anyone logged into their City of Toronto job profile since last applying?

I know they have updated the website from Brain Hunter to the new website. When I applied last year (summer) I received a confirmation email but it says that I have not applied to any jobs on my Job Profile on the website, it also doesn't show that I have any uploaded documents.
