Any updated news on when we can expect the next recruitment?
Plan is still end of November.

All CJO's have gone out

Hey Bigsmoke,

I was wondering in your experience, when attending the Toronto Fire medical appointment, what’s the proper attire?
Business casual or business formal? Thanks!

Great question. The email that was sent used to instruct candidates to wear business casual. Many have worn shorts and jeans but I always like to recommend doing as many things correct.

I would wear business casual - no jeans, collared shirt or golf shirt.

If you have have had any major surgeries - take that information including cd's with you. Be upfront and honest on any previous injuries or health issues if the doctor could find it. He is very good at finding things too.

Best of luck

Hey Bigsmoke,

Has anything changed with the city planning on starting the new recruitment this year? Or should we just assume they’re running a bit behind.

Yes, they are behind. As the recent recruit class ended some of those involved in the new recruitment are taking some vacation due to the workload of heavy-duty training days for a number of months.

I have not been told a definitive date but keep hearing any day! lol

I encourage everyone to ensure they are ready. Many appear to scramble when a recruitment is announced.
Be ahead of the challenge!

Remember: Every firefighter serving their community all share one thing in common - During recruitment, we never quit trying!!

Hey Bigsmoke,

I had another question about the criminal record check clearance, it doesn’t really specify on the TFS website but when you go to the TPS website it’s asks for you to make sure which one you’re applying for, a basic Criminal Record Check (CRC) or Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)?

Any insight would be much appreciated,

Thank you!

Has there been any word on when the new recruitment might be opening up again? I imagine COVID has thrown a wrench into things, was just curious if anyone had heard anything.
