This was statistically the best chance to get hired. Pretty big hit
I feel you, at the end of the day you'll never know what's going through the hiring committees mind. Control what you can and don't lose focus on what you can't, stay prepped and persistent eventually you'll get the call and you'll be ready for it. Round 2 is coming up soon keep your head high!

Does anyone know if we will need to reapply entirely for Toronto, or if the 4 month application window gave them enough candidates to restart and create a 2nd class with what they had.

(I did not receive an interview for this first round class).

Cheers.

Hey #bigsmoke,

I was able to get an interview this round (which I am grateful for!). Alas, I did not get a CJO this round (8th interview with a FD in 2 years).

With that said, will Toronto be posting another "Job Posting" for the next round of recruits? Feel this year is a good time to get on with TFS and don't want to miss out!

Any information is appreciated.

Thank You,
The current plan and I always say "plan" as history shows fire services change plans due to circumstances that we may never know of.
- plan is to hold interviews for the next class from the current recruitment of those who have already applied.
- that would start after July of this year. Likely by September.
- plan is to have another class of 96, starting in January of 2022.

it is very realistic to see large classes for the next few recruit classes. We are very short-staffed and it is not going to get better as many are at the retirement age and years of service.

Excellent advice. There is no such thing as too much preparation. The thinking that you look too polished is absolute BS. If you prep properly which includes your own personal commitment and personal beliefs to wanting and being prepared to be a firefighter will be honest and sincere.

Prepare like it is the chance of a lifetime!! (cause it is)

Do we have any tentative dates for the start of recruit class?

The next class after the upcoming July class is tentatively planned for January.
I am told no new recruitment. Candidates will be drawn from the applications received.
TFS has not been consistent about sending out "No thank you" emails.
In the past candidates who have passed the interview but not made it to the class have been told they would be considered for the next class.

Lets see what occurs.

On a side note. There have been a number of candidates that submitted less than accurate documents. They have lost their CJO's.
Don't try to cheat

Hey Bigsmoke,

Per your post and to confirm.
Typically TFS would send out an email stating: "You have not passed the interview" OR "You will be considered for the next class"?

(This is me just trying to hold out hope lol)

Thank you for the updates.

Cheers,
