Hi all, I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I am currently an apprentice in a trade where I live with 1 year of school under my belt for that trade. I absolutely despise the trade and have been tossing around some other job ideas. I am looking at applying at a company as a rescue technician as they currently have an opening, however I am not sure how a fire department would look at this move if I were to be in the position of getting hired. Basically my question is this, would it be more impressive or look better to a fire department to stay loyal to my current job and finish school for it or would moving to a new position such as rescue technician which i believe is a much more relevant experience to the fire service and a much more enjoyable job for myself look better? Would they tend to see me as the type to not follow through a commitment if i were to make the move or would they see it as taking a little initiative in better educating myself in a fire related role?
