On the job live fire training

Postby TheGuy » Thu Sep 17, 2020 12:18 am

Hey all,

question for anyone of you on a full time municipal service... how often would you say that you receive or are given the opportunity to partake in fire training, either by propane simulation or live fire?

Curious to see the answers

Great question ..

Right now, once a year with the dept seems right.
Outside the dept with other training agencies, around 3-6 burns.

Just found this post now... we don't often get to use our burn tower for whatever reason. Since I hit the floor I've used it maybe twice in 2 years, it seems to be rented out more often than not. I've also now taken it upon myself to look into outside training agencies for any and all training, including live burns
