Source: canoe.caAIRDRIE, AB - Ambulance waits at hospital and a serious crash forced Airdrie Emergency Services to declare a red alert yesterday and ask for a spare unit from Calgary. It's a problem that is becoming common, that city's chief says. Chief Sheldon Leavitt said Calgary EMS provided his service with an ambulance after the red alert was declared about 1:30 p.m., when all four advanced life-support units were tied up on calls, at or en route to hospital or at the scene of the crash.
