I got a job offer for firefighter with the CF and I'll be leaving to St Jean on September 28th.
Anyone have any tips for BMQ? (Yes I've checked the army.ca forums and reddit)

Congrats buds, you're a lucky guy to get in direct entry!
BMQ is easier than it used to be but still not to be taken lightly.
If you have an attitude, loose it
if you have and ego, loose it
be a team player, give your 100% and "play the game"
When that 20 year old master corporal with peach fuzz tries to teach you how to shave during a change parade, just say YES MCPL!
I've worked in st-jean and live around the area, PM me if you have any questions, ill give you my email.
welcome to the army.

Thanks! I don't have an ego or attitude (except a positive one since I'll be getting out of Cornwall) and I'm definitely a team player. Hopefully morning inspections won't be brutal.

If you got in direct Entry then congrats mate!
I know a couple of guys that were turned down because the fire trade was
closed off to the public, and only offered to CF memebers (re-musters).
BMQ is physically and mentally draining.
Just do what you are told, help out your mates and you should do fine.
you will miss walmart because the canex is expensive!
You will make good friends and you will look sharp.
Quebecfire is on point, if you have a bad attitude you will have a very hard time!
Out of curiosity which element would you be? Navy or Air?
cheers

Thank you!
I got in as direct entry and my element is air force. I will be getting my cleaning supplies before I leave for BMQ at Walmart though. One thing I'm worried about is the morning inspections.
has anyone been recruited for 2014?
Hey man,
I'm a buddy of Whit here at Borden. Yes, there have been quite a few people recruited for 2014. Come March there were about 6 or 7 of us here, now there is about 25. Word on the street is that there are 9 or so more coming at the end of the month.
